YCAP utilizes many volunteers to minimize costs and ensure services to as many people as possible.  Some volunteer positions are seasonal or one-time events.  Some are on-going.  If you do not see something that interests you, please check later or call the office at 503-883-4181.

YCAP Agency On-going Volunteer Needs:

• Volunteer Coordinator
• Data Entry
• Capital Campaign volunteers to work with committees and host events.

Transit Volunteer Needs:

• Drivers for Volunteer Medical Transport to drive a van to Portland area hospitals and clinics to assist veterans, seniors and disabled people needing medical treatments.
• Mentors to assist new bus riders as they learn the bus system. 

Food Bank Volunteer Needs:

• Groups to conduct food drives.
• Sorters for donated food.
• Gardeners to plant a row of vegetables in their garden for the food bank.

Housing Volunteer Needs:

• Social/church groups to adopt a room in one of the three shelters.  Once a year, paint, perhaps make new curtains, replace worn furniture, etc.
• Thanksgiving Baskets – group to assist with donations, making baskets and dispensing baskets.
• Christmas Giving Tree – group to organize tree hangers, wrap gifts, recruit groups to adopt a family, disperse gifts.

Youth Volunteer Needs:

• Mentors to teach special activities or hobbies, help with homework, monitor the computer room, hang out with teens and listen to them.
