Transportation Program

YCAP contracts with the Yamhill County Transit Area (YCTA) to provide 80% of the public transit service for Yamhill County. Routes include: McMinnville North, South and East, Amity/Sheridan/Willamina, Carlton/Yamhill/Hillsboro, and Dayton/West Salem, as well as a volunteer medical transportation program. The YCAP Transit service began as a service for the elderly and those with physical and/or mental challenges. Today it has evolved into a service available for all. Riders use the bus service to get to doctor appointments, grocery stores, access social service programs, and commute back and forth to work. Fares are: $1 each way; $2 for a day-pass; or $30 for a monthly pass. Some riders qualify based on income for a free bus pass. In 2006-07, the transit program provided 140,719 trips—including 16,038 trips for seniors, 40,808 trips for disabled persons, and 83,400 trips for the general public.
