ServicesTransportation is an important key to self-sufficiency— it’s vital for doctor’s appointments, job interviews, grocery shopping and other services. YCAP contracts with the Yamhill County Transit Authority to provide 80% of the public transit service for the county. YCAP’s transit service began as a service for the elderly and those with physical and/or mental challenges. Today, it has evolved into a service available to everyone. Dial-aride provides eligible passengers with curb-to-curb service, and free medical transportation is available through YCAP’s Volunteer Medical Transportation program. Use of the transit system continues to climb. This year, over 182,000 trips were provided to people using YCAP’s system, including more than 17,000 trips for elderly passengers and 46,000 for people with disabilities. Transit routes provide access to nine cities: Amity, Carlton, Dayton, Hillsboro, McMinnville, Sheridan, West Salem, Willamina, and Yamhill. Through these routes, YCAP links to other transit systems. |
