What is this service?It’s a service provided by YCAP TRANSIT. YCAP Transit has a van with volunteer drivers who take Yamhill County residents to medical appointments in the Portland area. Who is this service for?This service is designed to assist disabled persons and seniors, but is open to anyone with a medical need or for whom transportation to Portland is a challenge. Where does the van go?To many locations in the Portland area - hospitals, medical clinics, laboratories, doctor offices, etc. Is there a fee for this service?No fee is charged. It is a free service. Voluntary donations are accepted. What days and times is this service available?The VMT van runs Monday through Thursday (except holidays) throughout the year. This is a group ride so the bus schedule is determined daily, based on passengers medical appointments. Thus, departure-arrival times will vary. Medical appointments should be made between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Are there any limitations?No service on Fridays or holidays. How does someone arrange for a ride?You contact the Transportation Coordinator directly at 503-472-0457, ext. 21 (toll free 1-800-945-9992 x.21) to reserve a seat on the van. Seating is limited. Passengers meet VMT at the court house in McMinnville or at Fred Meyer in Newberg. Those passengers who need transportation from their homes to the pick up point should call the transportation coordinator to arrange a pick up.
